In many languages these two adjectives (形容詞) translate into the same words. However, in English, they are used very differently
There are two ways something can be “funny”. Jokes and things that make you laugh are funny. That’s one way. The other way is if something is strange or weird, it can be funny. For example, if you drink some bad milk, it tastes “funny”. A funny person is someone who is a comedian or is a little strange. You can know which is which by how people say it.
The first one said is funny like a comedian, while the second is funny as in strange.
